Yandex denies halting capacity reservations for partners
Yandex said it had not stopped reserving computing capacity for other companies. Its press office told RBC on October 11 that assistance to partners continued within the platform’s available resources.
Kommersant had reported, citing an IT-market source, that Yandex suspended reservations to preserve capacity for its own services. The company said that account was inaccurate.
The dispute followed damage to Yandex infrastructure and disruption to its services. The first outages began after a fire at its Sasovo data centre, followed by damage to facilities in Kaluga region and Vladimir.
On the evening of October 11, Yandex reported gradually restoring access to Alice, search, maps, taxi services, email and other products. Some functions could still remain restricted.
The statement about helping partners does not establish that all services are running without disruption. Yandex separately qualified its assistance by referring to current platform resources and noted restrictions on individual functions.
