Yandex directs users to social media as in-app support is disrupted

Yandex has advised customers to contact its services through their official social media accounts if in-app support is unavailable following damage to the company's infrastructure.

The company's press office issued the advice on Telegram on October 11. A high volume of requests means operators may take longer than usual to respond. Yandex said it would try to help customers as quickly as possible, without giving a specific response deadline.

Engineers are continuing to address the disruption and restore services. The announcement did not say that this work had been completed. Russian media linked the outages to a Ukrainian drone attack on a data centre in Vladimir.

The advice concerns the official social media account of the particular service a customer needs. It offers another way to request assistance while the usual in-app channel is experiencing problems.
