Yandex shares hit 3,255 rubles in early trading before rebounding

Yandex shares fell to 3,255 rubles in early Moscow trading on October 12, 5.79% below Friday's close, before rebounding later in the morning, RBC reported.

The move followed Sunday's decline after a drone attack on the company's Vladimir data centre. Shares initially reached 3,355.5 rubles, down 2.88% from Friday, then ended the Sunday session at 3,373.5 rubles, a 2.36% decline.

RBC's updated report said the shares subsequently moved above Sunday's closing level. The early low therefore does not describe the price throughout Monday's session.

Yandex said services were gradually returning after Sunday's disruption. Engineers prioritised widely used services, but some functions remained unavailable. The company had also reported attacks on data centres in Ryazan region on October 8 and Kaluga on October 9.

The scale of the damage and equipment-recovery timetable had not been publicly disclosed, Finam strategist Yaroslav Kabakov told RBC. He cautioned that the financial consequences could not yet be calculated accurately.

The company is expected to release its third-quarter financial results on October 29.
