Zacharia cites limited preparation for brief White House debut

White House press secretary Katie Zacharia told Fox News she received her briefing materials only that morning and had little preparation time before her first briefing.

Zacharia said she had been on the job for about eight hours when she appeared before reporters. She said she believed she had done her best to meet Americans’ expectations.

The first briefing took place on October thirteen. According to CNN, it lasted about fifteen minutes, much of it devoted to an opening statement. Zacharia then answered questions from three reporters before ending the appearance.

Before joining the White House, Zacharia worked as a senior communications adviser at Truth Social, owned by Trump Media & Technology Group. Donald Trump said she had also worked on his election campaigns.

Addressing questions about her legal background on Fox News, Zacharia confirmed reports that she had not passed the examination required for legal practice in California. She graduated from Pepperdine University and its Caruso School of Law.
