Katie Zacharia's first White House briefing lasts about 14 minutes

New White House press secretary Katie Zacharia held her first briefing on October 13. Her appearance before reporters lasted about 14 minutes.

Zacharia devoted much of the briefing to the accomplishments of Donald Trump's administration. RIA Novosti estimated that her opening remarks ran for roughly eight and a half minutes before she began taking questions.

Asked about her role ahead of the midterm elections, Zacharia said she intended to emphasise the president's work. She described Trump as his own best press secretary.

She ended the briefing by saying she needed to join the president before his departure from the White House. Reporters continued calling out questions as she left the room.

Zacharia replaced Karoline Leavitt, who left the post in August, saying she wanted to spend more time with her family.
