Ajax and Denmark striker Kasper Dolberg has undergone successful surgery on his right knee. He will begin his recovery in Denmark before continuing rehabilitation in Amsterdam.
The 29-year-old was injured during a training session with Denmark’s national team during the international break. The operation was performed in Copenhagen. Ajax said Dolberg would remain in Denmark for now to give his knee time to recover.
Dolberg said he was glad the surgery had gone well, although the injury was a major setback. He said he would focus fully on his recovery in the coming period. He is expected to return to Amsterdam and continue rehabilitation with the club. Ajax has not announced a recovery timetable or a date for his return to action.
