Anaheim Ducks scores five in road win over Winnipeg Jets

The Anaheim Ducks beat the Winnipeg Jets 5-1 in their October 9 NHL regular-season meeting at Canada Life Centre in Winnipeg.
Judd Caulfield opened the scoring in the first period before Tim Washe doubled the visitors’ advantage in the second. Sam Colangelo made it 3-0 in the third. Kyle Connor replied for Winnipeg, but Mikael Granlund restored the three-goal margin and Nikita Nesterenko finished with an empty-net goal.
Anaheim won the periods 1-0, 1-0 and 3-1. The shot count was much closer than the final score, with the Ducks holding a 17-16 edge. Anaheim also blocked 20 shots to Winnipeg’s nine and recorded 25 hits against the home team’s 14. The visitors’ four-goal winning margin therefore came despite a difference of just one shot on goal.
