Bali limits Pertalite refuelling according to odd and even number plates
Bali is limiting purchases of subsidised Pertalite petrol by car and motorcycle registration numbers from October 17 to 19.
Vehicles whose plates end in an odd number can refuel on odd dates, while those ending in an even number can do so on even dates. Under the arrangement, October 18 is the turn of vehicles with even-numbered plates.
Queues began to shorten after the restrictions were introduced, according to a RIA Novosti correspondent. However, lines remained on Sunday in Gianyar, Karangasem, Singaraja and Tabanan.
Pertamina Patra Niaga had also reported a gradual reduction in queues at some filling stations the previous day, according to ANTARA. The company said it was evaluating queue lengths, waiting times and traffic around stations daily with Bali's authorities.
