Russia and Gulf council prepare postponed expert-level cooperation talks

Russia and the Gulf Cooperation Council are preparing a technical meeting on expanding cooperation, Secretary General Jasem Albudaiwi said at ministerial talks in Manama on October 18, according to RIA Novosti.

The meeting of specialists and experts had previously been planned for Moscow. Albudaiwi said events in the Middle East had prevented it from taking place as scheduled and forced a postponement.

He said the sides would coordinate the meeting to discuss new initiatives. The areas of cooperation he identified were politics, trade, culture and education, along with energy and food.
