Turkey expects share of Russian diesel under US-Russia arrangement, minister says
Turkey expects to receive some Russian diesel under an arrangement between Moscow and Washington, Energy Minister Alparslan Bayraktar told Kanal7, according to RIA Novosti.
Bayraktar said Turkish officials had discussed supplies during meetings and agreed that Turkey would receive part of the volume. Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak had previously said buyers beyond the United States were interested in Russian diesel.
Donald Trump announced an understanding on supplying Russian diesel to the world market after a telephone conversation with Vladimir Putin on October 9.
RIA Novosti reported that the US Treasury subsequently authorized transactions involving the sale, delivery, unloading and import of Russian-origin diesel through April 7, 2027.
