Dmitry Igdisamov explains CSKA’s move for Ivan Oleynikov

CSKA head coach Dmitry Igdisamov said Ivan Oleynikov’s performance against Krasnodar was decisive in his support for the transfer. He told Sport Express that the club acted before the player arrived at Rubin’s training base.
Igdisamov said CSKA had considered Oleynikov after several good performances. The midfielder supplied two assists for Krylya Sovetov against Krasnodar and then described the game as his farewell. The coach said he did not yet know the player’s destination.
Igdisamov said he asked club management to consider the move quickly. With permission from Krylya Sovetov’s leadership, he called the player directly and offered a return. According to the coach, Oleynikov agreed, after which executives completed the discussions.
He placed that call between the Krasnodar match and Oleynikov’s arrival at Rubin’s base. His account disputes the suggestion that CSKA entered the transfer process only after that arrival.
Explaining the need for another attacking midfielder, Igdisamov highlighted the 28-year-old’s maturity and consistent quality. He said most of the other attacking players mentioned in the interview were aged 18 to 21, with Danil Krugovoy the exception.
The coach also pointed to Oleynikov’s progress from the lower divisions to Russia’s top level. Sport Express reported that the midfielder had made 11 appearances this season, scoring three goals and providing three assists.
