Doctor explains how food diaries help track overlooked calories

Endocrinologist Natalya Muravyova of Voskresensk Hospital recommended keeping a food diary to notice calories in drinks and snacks, RIA Novosti and Petersburg Diary reported on October 9.

Muravyova advised recording everything consumed, including sugary drinks. She also highlighted meal amounts and timing, the balance of protein, fat and carbohydrates, and physical activity.

The report cited 120 minutes of weekly activity alongside 30–40 minutes a day. Those figures are not equivalent if exercise is daily.

The World Health Organization identifies at least 150 minutes of moderate activity per week as the adult benchmark. The quoted 120 minutes should therefore not be treated as a universally sufficient target. Food diaries can help assess habits, while exercise choices depend on health.
