DOM.RF Bank reports nearly 28 billion roubles for Moscow sludge-drying plants

DOM.RF Bank says it has provided nearly 28 billion roubles for two sludge-drying plants in Moscow. Total financing will exceed 34 billion roubles, according to the bank's press service.

The plants are being built at the Lyubertsy and Kuryanovo wastewater treatment facilities. Their combined capacity is planned at no less than 900,000 tonnes a year. Greentech LLC is implementing the project under a concession agreement with Moscow's government.

The plants will dry dewatered sludge produced during the treatment of domestic and municipal wastewater. The resulting material is intended for use as biofuel in cement plant process kilns.

Deputy bank chairman Alexander Aksakov said the money already provided had funded construction, connections to infrastructure and equipment purchases. The plants remain under construction, so their planned capacity and use of the sludge are not completed operational results.
