Moscow region plans billion-rouble robotic dairy farm

An agreement to build a robotic dairy farm in the Sergiyev Posad district was signed at the Golden Autumn 2026 exhibition. Investment is estimated at one billion roubles, with completion planned for 2031.

Moscow regional Deputy Prime Minister Vyacheslav Dukhin and Kuzminsky farm chairman Oleg Khakhunov signed the document. The regional agriculture ministry said on 9 October that the farm would accommodate 1,200 cattle and produce up to 12,000 tonnes of raw milk annually.

Dukhin said the region processes more than three million tonnes of milk each year. The new livestock capacity is intended to expand its own raw-material supply. Plans include automated milking, digital records and data-based herd management.

Kuzminsky has operated since 1963 and breeds Holstein cattle. According to the ministry, it has more than 3,600 hectares of land and over 2,000 animals, including 926 cows. In 2025, it produced 9,600 tonnes of milk, averaging 10.5 tonnes per cow.

The farm already uses digital tools for milking and combining herd, breeding and yield data. In 2025, it received 48 million roubles in state support for breeding, milk production, insurance and agricultural work.
