Pakistan's finance minister plans more than 60 engagements in Bangkok

Muhammad Aurangzeb will lead Pakistan's delegation to the IMF–World Bank Group annual meetings in Bangkok from October 12 to 18, with more than 60 engagements planned, the finance ministry said.

The government announced the visit on October 10. Talks with international financial institutions will cover Pakistan's economic outlook, reform progress and private-sector development, including meetings with the International Finance Corporation and the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency.

The bilateral programme includes counterparts from Saudi Arabia, China, Türkiye, Iran, the United Kingdom and Thailand. Aurangzeb will also meet the US Treasury to discuss economic cooperation and Pakistan's reform and investment agenda.

Investor outreach is another priority. The minister will participate in seminars and roundtables and meet Fitch Ratings, Moody's and S&P Global to present the country's economic and reform trajectory.

A planned engagement with Alibaba International Digital Commerce will focus on the digital economy, e-commerce and investment opportunities. The ministry links the visit to its priorities of attracting investment, expanding exports and creating jobs.
