Darkness Falls wins Dewhurst Stakes at Newmarket

Darkness Falls won the Group One Dewhurst Stakes at Newmarket on October 10, beating Desert Castle by a neck.
The two-year-old colt was ridden by Ryan Moore and is trained by Aidan O'Brien. Five horses contested the seven-furlong race, according to the Racing TV results table.
After the finish, O'Brien described Britain's Triple Crown as a possible ambition for next season. The series comprises the 2,000 Guineas, Derby and St Leger. It is a prospective target for the team rather than an achievement already secured.
Darkness Falls previously won a Group One over nine furlongs at Leopardstown. His sire, Camelot, won the first two Triple Crown races in 2012 but lost the St Leger. Nijinsky remains the most recent horse to win all three, completing the series in 1970.
