G3 geomagnetic storm reported on Earth on October 10

A G3 geomagnetic storm began on October 10 after a cloud of solar plasma reached Earth, according to Phobos weather centre specialist Mikhail Leus.
Leus said the cloud came from a recent solar eruption. He described the magnetic-field response as strong, the third level on a five-level scale.
Russia's space research and solar-terrestrial physics institutes also reported G3 conditions, according to RBC. Their account put the onset at about 20:00 Moscow time.
The US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration classifies G3 as strong. Navigation and radio disruptions are possible at that level, but the classification does not establish that disruptions occurred.
Leus' report concerns October 10 evening observations. It does not establish how long the storm lasted or its intensity later.
