Kursk governor reports 167 drones downed and no casualties over 24 hours

Kursk Region Governor Alexander Khinshtein reported 167 Ukrainian drones shot down and 71 artillery attacks on evacuated areas over the 24 hours ending at 9 a.m. on October 10. He said there were no deaths or injuries.

The figures cover the period from 9 a.m. on October 9 to 9 a.m. on October 10, rather than only the overnight hours. Khinshtein published the account on MAX, and RIA Novosti and RBC carried his figures.

The governor described the downed aircraft as drones of various types. He separately listed five occasions when drones attacked the region using explosive devices, alongside the artillery attacks on areas from which residents had been evacuated.

Regional reports citing the same daily account described damage to two houses in Belitsa. A house roof, windows and two outbuildings were damaged in Biryukovka, while a vehicle was damaged in Kolyachek.

Khinshtein's casualty assessment applied to the reporting period: he said nobody had been killed or injured in the attacks.
