Kuwait Airways cancels Riyadh flights amid airport closure

Kuwait Airways cancelled flights KU775 and KU776 between Kuwait and Riyadh scheduled for October 10, citing the Saudi capital’s airport closure for security reasons.
The cancellation covered the service from Kuwait to Riyadh and the return flight. The Peninsula and ARY News reported the same flight numbers and Saturday date, corroborating the airline announcement cited by RIA Novosti.
Passengers were urged to follow the carrier’s official channels and check messages sent to the contact numbers recorded in their bookings. The announcement concerned specific flights and did not give a firm timetable for restoring the route.
The disruption followed reports of an explosion at Riyadh airport. At the time of RIA’s report, Saudi authorities had not officially confirmed a fresh attack.
The flight cancellations are a confirmed operational measure. They should be distinguished from reports about the cause of the explosion or who was responsible, which required separate confirmation.
