Anushka Yadav wins Indian title with hammer meet record

Eighteen-year-old Anushka Yadav won the women's hammer title at India's National Open Athletics Championships on October 10 with a meet-record throw of 66.53 metres.
Representing ONGC, Yadav finished ahead of Punjab's Haqikat Grewal on 56.14 metres and Railway athlete Kulvinder on 55.22. The Athletics Federation of India confirmed the results.
Karanveer Singh won the men's shot put with 19.63 metres. Sanyam and Anurag Kaler both reached 18.32 metres, with Sanyam taking silver on the strength of his better second-best effort.
Shampa Gain completed a distance double, winning the women's 10,000 metres in 35:33.90 after taking the 5,000-metre title earlier in the meeting. The Railway team, anchored by Kiran Pahal, won the mixed 4×400-metre relay in 3:21.60.
