Matviyenko arrives in Khakassia for working visit

Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko has arrived in Khakassia to visit public service facilities and meet regional head Valentin Konovalov, the Russian upper house's press service said.

The programme includes the Bograd district hospital. Matviyenko and Konovalov will inspect its operating outpatient clinic, speak with staff and patients, and assess installation and finishing work in a new building.

Chief physician Yelena Trufanova raised concerns about the main hospital building's unsafe condition at the All-Russian Forum of Rural Workers in 2024. Matviyenko subsequently asked the Health Ministry and regional authorities to begin construction of a replacement.

The meeting at the regional government will address socio-economic development, national projects and federal programmes. The visit also includes planned stops at Remishevskaya Republican Clinical Hospital and the Kyzlasov Khakass National Museum of Local History.
