Medvedev and Paul to meet in Shanghai Masters quarterfinal

Daniil Medvedev and Tommy Paul will meet in the Shanghai ATP Masters 1000 quarterfinals on October 16. Their match on Qizhong's centre court is scheduled for no earlier than 13:00 Moscow time.

The 30-year-old Russian, ranked sixth in the ATP standings, beat Stefanos Tsitsipas 6–4, 7–5 in the fourth round. Paul, 29, is ranked 18th in the world.

The American reached the quarterfinals by defeating Belgium's Zizou Bergs 7–6, with a 7–5 tiebreak, 6–4.

The players had met five times before the Shanghai fixture. Their previous match took place at Indian Wells in March 2025, when Medvedev won in straight sets, 6–4, 6–0.
