Medvedev to face Dalibor Svrčina in Shanghai third round

Daniil Medvedev’s next opponent at the Shanghai Masters will be Czech player Dalibor Svrčina. Svrčina beat Tomás Martín Etcheverry 6:3, 3:6, 7:5 in the second round on October 10.

At the time of the report, Svrčina was ranked 126th by the ATP and Argentina’s Etcheverry 31st. The Czech won the opening set, lost the second and took the deciding set 7:5.

Medvedev also advanced through a three-set second-round match, beating Jan-Lennard Struff 4:6, 6:4, 6:3. Tournament results confirm that outcome.

The Russian and Czech players will therefore meet in the next round of the ATP 1000 event. Their match will decide a place in the fourth round.
