Moscow begins trials of mobile charging station for electric cars

Moscow is testing a mobile electric vehicle charging station at parking area No. 9080 on Triumfalnaya Square. The trials are being conducted with Rosatom, Deputy Mayor Maxim Liksutov said.

Drivers can summon the station to a parked car and start charging through the Moscow Metro app. An engineer controls the device during the initial phase, with autonomous movement planned for a later stage.

The station has a 74.6 kWh energy storage unit and supports fast charging at up to 60 kW. The trials form part of the Energy of Moscow project and will test the technology in urban conditions.

Liksutov said the project already includes more than 450 charging stations and four charging complexes.
