Moscow issues yellow weather warning for strong winds

Moscow and the surrounding region have a strong-wind warning for October 10. The Hydrometeorological Centre's yellow warning runs from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Daytime wind gusts in the capital could reach 17 metres per second. NTV reports that the same warning covers the Moscow region. It applies to Saturday and does not mean gusts of that strength will occur continuously throughout the day.
Saturday's warning coincides with a deterioration in the weather. Rain, gusty winds and cooler conditions are expected in Moscow during the October 10–11 weekend. Although the forecast describes rain and wind together, the warning for strong gusts has its own defined period of validity.
Sunday is expected to be cloudy with brighter intervals, with brief rain possible overnight and in the morning. The separate strong-wind warning ends on Saturday evening and should not automatically be extended to Sunday.
