Yandex has yet to set recovery dates for damaged data centres
Yandex said on October 9 that it could not yet determine when equipment at its damaged data centres in Sasovo and Kaluga would be restored. The company is continuing to assess the infrastructure after drone attacks.
Operations at the Sasovo facility in Russia’s Ryazan region were completely halted after serious damage overnight on October 7–8. A further attack on the morning of October 9 affected the company’s data centre in Kaluga, putting part of its infrastructure out of service.
In its official statement, Yandex said employees at neither location had been injured. Emergency services and company specialists were working at the sites.
Yandex said its teams were working day and night to keep services running and assist those affected by the incidents. It intends to provide further information as it becomes available.
Damage assessments remain under way at both facilities. The lack of a recovery date concerns the affected equipment and does not constitute an announcement that all company services have stopped.
