NATO to send additional surveillance assets to the Black Sea region
NATO will send additional assets to the Black Sea region for surveillance, intelligence and forensic analysis, alliance spokesperson Alison Hart said.
She said the decision followed a discussion of regional security by NATO ambassadors at the North Atlantic Council on 20 October.
Earlier that day, Vladislav Maslennikov, director of the Russian Foreign Ministry's European affairs department, criticised NATO's increased activity in the Black Sea. He said reconnaissance aircraft based in Constanta, Romania, monitored the waters and passed information to Ukraine.
