Pavel Samusenko wins 100m backstroke silver in Tashkent

Russian swimmer Pavel Samusenko finished second in the men's 100m backstroke at the second leg of the short-course Swimming World Cup in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

Samusenko earned his silver medal on October 10, the final day of the meeting. The race added another individual podium finish to his World Cup record.

World Aquatics confirms the result in its official list of Samusenko's medals. The entry for Tashkent identifies his placing as silver in the men's 100m backstroke.

The Uzbekistan meeting ran from October 8 to October 10. Short-course swimming competitions take place in a 25-metre pool.

Russian swimmers are competing with their national flag and anthem. Samusenko's podium finish came in an individual event on the programme of the three-day meeting.
