Pezeshkian says Ukraine conflict affects other countries

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian told the CIS summit on 9 October that the Russia-Ukraine conflict's consequences extend beyond the two countries, affecting security, transport and energy markets.
Pezeshkian said crises in one part of the region could quickly create socioeconomic and political pressure elsewhere in the world. His press service published the text of his speech at the meeting in Turkmenistan.
The Iranian president was attending a CIS summit for the first time. Press TV reported that he spoke as a special guest at the meeting in the Avaza tourist zone. Pezeshkian urged stronger connections between regional transport and energy routes.
He also proposed a CIS plus Iran format for dialogue and cooperation, including transit, energy, trade and investment. This is the Iranian president's proposal. The account of his speech does not establish that summit participants have created the mechanism.
