Police check reported assault on a teenage trolleybus passenger in Novosibirsk

Police are checking a reported assault on a 19-year-old trolleybus passenger in Novosibirsk. Lenta.ru published an account citing the Telegram channel 112 on October 10, while local reports said the woman had filed a police complaint.

According to 112, several unidentified people insulted the passenger and demanded that she give up her seat despite other seats being available. The account says she was punched in the nose when she tried to record what was happening.

The source also reported scratches to her hands and forehead and broken glasses. She left at the next stop but returned to the vehicle when the alleged attackers followed her.

Lenta.ru cited accounts from victims of another confrontation reportedly involving the same group. They said a fight began after suspicions of pickpocketing. These are participants’ allegations rather than findings established in court.

Amic, citing KP-Novosibirsk, reported that the woman submitted a complaint. It also cited Interior Ministry confirmation that police were checking the incident and working to identify those involved.
