Promyshlennye Sooruzheniya becomes new owner of Lesta Games

Promyshlennye Sooruzheniya has become the owner of Lesta Games, the publisher of Mir Tankov and Mir Korabley in Russia, the gaming company's press office announced on October 16.

Lesta described the buyer as a consortium of private investors. It said the management team and development strategy would remain unchanged following the ownership change.

A representative of Promyshlennye Sooruzheniya said the investor supported continued development of existing games and the launch of new projects. It also backed an internal programme allowing employees to propose ideas for new games.

The announced investment plans cover both Lesta's own development work and external projects. The new owner intends to make some investments through the creation of a venture fund.

Lesta had been state-owned since the summer of 2025, after Moscow's Tagansky District Court transferred its assets to the state following a prosecutor's lawsuit. Former VK chief Boris Dobrodeev became the studio's head.

In early September 2026, Deputy Finance Minister Alexei Moiseyev said a sale to an interested investor was being prepared. Previously reported potential buyers and transaction valuations are not the announced terms of the current sale.

Founded in St Petersburg in 1991, the studio belonged to Wargaming until 2022. It took over management of the group's Russian game versions after Wargaming left Russia.

RBC reports that Lesta employs approximately 2,200 people. The company's website lists four new projects in development.
