Russian Defense Ministry says Ukrainian forces use agricultural drones near Orikhiv

Ukrainian forces have increasingly used agricultural drones to deliver ammunition and food near Orikhiv in the Zaporizhzhia region, a Russian drone operator said. RIA Novosti cited his remarks in video provided by Russia’s Defense Ministry.

The serviceman said heavy vehicles and foot deliveries were being used less often. He also mentioned ground robotic systems and drones known as Baba Yaga. RIA Novosti did not specify the volume of supplies or frequency of the flights.

In a statement dated Oct. 8, Russia’s Defense Ministry said a drone crew had spotted Ukrainian infantry in a camouflaged dugout. The ministry said the position had been firing at Russian forces and preventing an assault group from advancing.

The ministry said an FPV drone was prepared and sent toward the position after an order was received. It reported that the target was hit, citing footage it described as objective-control video. The publication offered no independent confirmation.

According to the ministry, strike-drone units from the Ivanovo Guards Airborne formation, part of the Dnipro grouping, support Russian assault teams near Orikhiv. The account of the strike and its outcome comes from the Russian side.
