The Russian Telegram channel Idi i Smotri reported advances by Russian forces near three villages in Ukraine’s Kharkiv region. Russia’s Defense Ministry has also reported fighting in the area.
The channel said Russian troops repelled Ukrainian counterattacks and advanced in the Vovchansk district. Its post did not provide independent confirmation of the claims.
Earlier on October 7, Interfax, citing Russia’s Defense Ministry, reported fighting for five settlements in Kharkiv region. The ministry named Varvarivka, Reznikovo and Lobanivka among them.
The Idi i Smotri post also repeated an earlier report that Ukrainian forces had lost up to 30 troops in a day in an area where troops were said to be surrounded. The post did not specify the source of that estimate.
