Støre says Witkoff will visit St Petersburg on October 21

US presidential envoy Steve Witkoff will travel to St Petersburg on October 21 to meet the Russian leadership, Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre said after talks in Oslo.

Støre said Witkoff would convey the outcome of discussions with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and proposals developed by European and American participants. The prime minister made the announcement at a press conference following the meeting.

The Oslo discussions covered Ukraine's security, post-war recovery, territorial issues, sanctions and Europe's security architecture, Støre said. He suggested the consultations could help prepare the ground for a meeting between leaders.
