State Duma approves Nikitin's candidacy for deputy prime minister

Russia's State Duma approved Transport Minister Andrey Nikitin's candidacy for deputy prime minister overseeing the transport sector.
The resolution will be sent to President Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. The prime minister submitted Nikitin's candidacy on Monday alongside proposals for other cabinet changes.
Mishustin proposed Dmitry Yadrov, head of the Federal Air Transport Agency, as transport minister. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov previously said Putin supported the prime minister's proposed personnel changes.
