State Duma approves Siluanov as deputy prime minister and finance minister

Russia's State Duma approved Anton Siluanov's candidacy for deputy prime minister and finance minister.
The resolution will be sent to President Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. Mishustin submitted proposals for new cabinet members to the State Duma on Monday after meeting the president.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Putin supported the prime minister's personnel proposals. He said the serving deputy prime ministers would continue working until the relevant presidential decrees were issued.
Siluanov has led the Finance Ministry since 2011. From 2018 to 2020, he also served as first deputy prime minister while retaining the finance portfolio.
