Teenager injured by bear in Altai transferred to Moscow children's hospital

A teenager injured in a bear attack in Russia's Altai region has been transferred to the Russian Children's Clinical Hospital in Moscow. The hospital told RIA Novosti on October 10 that he was in serious condition and on mechanical ventilation.
The hospital confirmed the patient's admission and need for mechanical breathing support. The latest development is his transfer to a federal children's hospital.
Regional authorities reported that a bear attacked the 15-year-old in Solton district on October 8, causing injuries that required medical treatment.
On October 9, Interfax cited the Altai health ministry as saying he had been transferred to Barnaul for further treatment. Admission to the Moscow hospital followed.
October 10 accounts from the federal disaster medicine centre describe his evacuation to the children's hospital, where he is receiving care. No recovery prognosis was reported.
