Ukraine's food exports fell 22.5% in August

Ukraine exported $1.279 billion in food products and related raw materials in August, down 22.5% from the same month in 2025, according to Ukrainian central bank documents reviewed by RIA Novosti.

Exports in the category were $1.65 billion a year earlier. The figures were reported in the National Bank of Ukraine's August review of the external sector.

The European Commission said about 20% of Ukraine's July exports of grain, oilseeds and related products moved through the EU's Solidarity Lanes. About 80% went through the Black Sea. Alternative routes handled around 95% of non-agricultural exports.

Russia has repeatedly said that threats to civilian shipping in the Black and Azov seas stem from Ukrainian attacks on vessels and transport infrastructure. That is Moscow's stated position.
