Viktor Drobysh backs children's freedom to choose their careers

Composer and producer Viktor Drobysh said he does not see continuing a creative dynasty as an obligation for his children or grandchildren. In an interview with RIA Novosti, he emphasised freedom of choice.

Asked about his children's musical careers, Drobysh said he did not favour an approach in which an ancestor's profession predetermines the future of later generations. He places greater importance on each person's own decision.

The producer confirmed that his sons Valery and Ivan independently chose to work in music. He supports their involvement in the field while attributing it to their own wishes.

Both older sons were born during his first marriage to poet and producer Elena Styuf. That marriage lasted from 1986 to 2004.

Drobysh met his second wife, Tatiana Nusinova, in 2007. They have a daughter, Lydia, and a son, Daniil. The producer also has five grandchildren. His position on freedom of choice extends to the family's younger generations.
