Yandex says Disk restrictions are intended to reduce service load

Yandex said it deliberately limited some Yandex 360 features, including Disk, to keep its services operating. The company is continuing work to restore full access.

Its press office told RBC that the restrictions reduce load and preserve core working functions. Yandex gave RIA Novosti the same explanation. Those statements did not specify when every feature would return.

Kommersant reported that the web version of Disk cannot download multiple files, albums or folders together, and that the Download All button on public links is unavailable. It said accessible files and folders can still be downloaded through the app.

The restrictions follow damage to the Vladimir data centre during a drone attack overnight on October 11. The facility stopped operating. Yandex later announced a gradual recovery of services, which did not mean all Disk features had returned simultaneously.
