Yaroslavl region to award medal to 18 sanctioned companies’ workforces

Yaroslavl regional governor Mikhail Yevrayev has decided to award the Honour and Glory medal to the workforces of 18 companies listed under EU sanctions, his administration said on October 14.
Recipients include Yaroslavl Radio Plant, Avtodizel, the Vympel shipyard, Cordiant and UEC-Saturn. The regional government noted that UEC-Saturn has been under EU sanctions since 2022.
Yevrayev linked the awards to industry’s contribution to Russia’s military effort. His favourable description of sanctions as a measure of the companies’ effectiveness reflects the governor’s position.
The medal was established at his initiative in early 2025 and previously could be awarded only to individuals. Regional authorities said he had signed a decree allowing legal entities to be nominated as well.
The announcement concerns the award decision and does not specify a ceremony date. The change to medal rules does not alter the companies’ sanctions status.
