Armando Mema welcomes US–Russia diesel agreement

Finnish politician Armando Mema described the US–Russia diesel supply agreement as positive news for global markets. RIA Novosti reported his October 10 comments on X.
Mema, a member of the Freedom Alliance party, linked the fuel agreement to the need for good relations between Washington and Moscow. He praised Vladimir Putin's actions and said they could help stabilise oil prices.
Donald Trump announced the agreement following a telephone conversation with the Russian president on October 9. The US leader said the United States was interested in receiving Russian diesel.
In the same comment, Mema argued that continued Ukrainian strikes could weaken the US administration's trust in Volodymyr Zelensky. This was a party member's political assessment rather than a statement on behalf of Finland's government.
RIA Novosti also recalled Putin's position that Ukrainian attacks on Russian refineries were intended to harm Russia's economy. He described Russian strikes on Ukrainian economic facilities as a response.
Mema's expectations about prices are not an established outcome of the agreement. In a separate Associated Press report, energy specialists assessed the likely impact of additional Russian supplies on high prices as limited.
