Bank of Russia to reassess capacity losses in October 23 forecast

The Bank of Russia will reassess how temporary losses of production and logistics capacity affect its 2026-2027 forecast at the October 23 meeting. Deputy Governor Alexey Zabotkin announced the review.

Zabotkin was answering journalists' questions in the State Duma about the economic and inflation effects of attacks on Yandex data centres. He outlined the forthcoming forecast review but did not give a numerical estimate of those effects.

The central bank will base its key-rate decision on incoming data. Zabotkin's statement does not establish that it has already decided how the rate will change at the October meeting.

At its previous meeting on September 11, the board kept the key rate at 14% a year. Its official statement linked future decisions to inflation, inflation expectations and assessments of risks arising from domestic and external conditions.
