Falkov outlines six priorities for using AI in higher education

Personalised learning materials and changes to assessment are among six priorities for using artificial intelligence in higher education. Science and Higher Education Minister Valery Falkov presented the list at the Digital Innopolis Days forum.

RIA Novosti reported on October 9 that the minister's presentation also identified support for teaching staff as a priority. University management and education quality formed another area. The list therefore covered both academic work and the organisation of university activities.

Two further priorities focused directly on students: individual support and designing AI use to develop cognitive skills. The presentation listed these alongside personalised materials, revised assessment and support for teachers.

At the same plenary session, Falkov discussed two compulsory AI modules, one basic and one professional. Their introduction is planned as part of the transition to a new higher education model. His announcement concerned the design of future programmes, rather than saying that the modules were already operating at every university.
