France expects 200 thousand tonnes of diesel a month from UAE and Bahrain
The Elysee Palace has announced arrangements for an additional 200 thousand tonnes of diesel a month for the French market from the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, following President Emmanuel Macron’s trip to Gulf countries.
Each country would supply 100 thousand tonnes a month. Agence France-Presse reported that commitments from the UAE had been obtained, while the Bahrain arrangement was expected to be finalised during Macron’s visit there later in the day.
The French president had previously arranged supplies of 95 thousand tonnes of diesel from Saudi Arabia for October and November.
Le Figaro, citing Macron’s entourage, reported that agreements on diesel supplies from Qatar were also expected soon.
