Gomez scores from long range for Brighton against Crystal Palace

Brighton midfielder Diego Gomez scored from the halfway line against Crystal Palace in the Premier League, RIA Novosti reported.

In minute 7, Brighton intercepted possession near the centre circle. The Paraguayan spotted goalkeeper Walter Benitez off his line and lofted a long-range shot over him.

Brighton were already leading 1–0 before the strike and held a 3–0 advantage at half-time. The match in Brighton is part of the Premier League’s seventh round.

It was the 23-year-old’s first goal in 11 competitive appearances this season. Gomez also represented Paraguay at the World Cup during the summer, playing in four matches.
