Eighteen-year-old midfielder Zé Lucas scored the first goal of his professional career, helping Cruzeiro beat São Paulo 2-0 in the 29th round of Brazil’s top-flight league.
The match was played on Oct. 7 at Mineirão Stadium in Belo Horizonte. Zé Lucas came on after halftime and scored in the 12th minute of the second half. It was his first goal for Cruzeiro’s senior side and came in his ninth appearance for the club.
He made his senior debut in 2024 with Sport Recife. Cruzeiro signed him to a five-year contract in July, paying 25 million reais for 60% of his economic rights, Brazilian media reported. The deal also involved two Cruzeiro players joining Sport on loan.
Zé Lucas’s goal was the second of the match. Kaio Jorge had scored earlier. The win gave Cruzeiro three points in its push for a place near the top of the Série A table.
