Hyewon Joo receives assistance after Denis Ten Memorial performance

The South Korean skater became unwell after her free skate in Almaty. TASS and Match TV reported on October 9 that she needed assistance to leave the arena.
The 15-year-old Hyewon Joo competed in the junior women’s event at the Denis Ten Memorial. After finishing her routine, she received medical assistance and was helped out of the arena, RBC reported, citing coverage of the competition.
TASS described three falls during the performance. The official judges’ free-skating protocol, however, records four falls and a four-point deduction. The skater received 68.42 points for that segment.
RBC reported a combined short-programme and free-skating score of 138.07 points, placing her 14th overall.
Russian skaters took the top three places. Alisa Zaikina scored 206.05 points, Viktoriia Streltsova earned 200.99 and Alena Prineva finished with 198.59. The competition takes place in Kazakhstan from October 8 to 10.
