Kazakh concert organiser seeks fee refund from singer Akmal’

Kazakh entrepreneur Sergey Mozlov has demanded the return of the full fee paid to singer Akmal’ for two cancelled concerts in Kostanay, he told RIA Novosti. Mozlov handled ticket sales and concert arrangements for the performer in Kazakhstan in 2025.

Mozlov said a fee refund would not cover all his costs in reimbursing ticket buyers. He said he had also paid for the team’s domestic flights, sound and lighting equipment, road transport, accommodation, meals and advertising.

In April 2026, a court in Petropavlovsk ordered the entrepreneur to return 5.3 million tenge to consumers over a cancelled performance. Local media reported the ruling, citing the North Kazakhstan regional trade and consumer protection department.

The singer’s producer, Anastasia Galkina, attributed the cancellation of Kazakh concerts to water and electricity disruptions and fire safety problems in October 2025, RIA Novosti reported.

Mozlov said his accounts and property had been frozen and that he faced an additional payment to private enforcement officers equivalent to 25 percent of the court-ordered sum. He said he had already reimbursed some ticket buyers.
