More than 25 Moscow-bound flights diverted on Oct. 11

Safety restrictions at Moscow airports led flights to divert to other cities. Representatives of three airports told TASS about a combined total of 26 aircraft.

Sheremetyevo reported 11 flights that landed in Nizhny Novgorod, St. Petersburg, Kazan, Samara and Yaroslavl instead of Moscow. Their departure points included Saratov, Perm, St. Petersburg, Monastir, Antalya, Nalchik, Ufa, Samara, Tashkent and Yekaterinburg.

Another nine aircraft were unable to arrive at Vnukovo. Those flights originated in Samara, Sabetta, Ulyanovsk, Ukhta, St. Petersburg and Makhachkala.

Six aircraft heading to Domodedovo made intermediate landings in Nizhny Novgorod, Kazan and St. Petersburg. They had departed from Baku, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, Tashkent, Samarkand and Osh. The figures describe the impact of restrictions on the evening of Oct. 11 and do not establish the current status of each flight.
